One of the best things to do during Raksha Bandhan is to make your rakhi at home. Kids can make these five super-easy rakhi crafts at home using things they already have.
1. Rakhi on a Paper Plate You will need: colored papers, glue, scissors, and ribbons.- Cut off the middle of a paper plate and add colourful paper cutouts, stickers, and drawings to the edge. Put ribbons on it so you may wrap it around your brother's wrist. This large, happy rakhi will make him smile!
2. Button and Bead Rakhi You will need colourful buttons, beads, thread, and a needle (with guidance from an adult).
- Put beautiful beads and buttons on a sturdy thread. Choose colours that your brother likes to make it even personalised. Get an adult to assist you with the needle. This rakhi looks precisely like the ones you can buy!
3. Pom-Pom Rakhi: You'll need wool yarn, cardboard, scissors, and thread.
- Use wool and cardboard to make fluffy pom-poms. Put them on a string with little beads between them. These soft and bouncy rakhis are great for little brothers who like to touch and play with different textures.
4. Flower Rakhi You will need: wire, green tape, tissue paper or crepe paper, and thread.
- Make little paper flowers and stick them on a slender wire that has green tape on it. This rakhi, which is inspired by nature, looks great and smells great too! To make it even more sparkly, add more glitter.
5. Chocolate Rakhi You will need: little chocolates, colored threads, and double-sided adhesive.
- Make an edible rakhi by wrapping little chocolates in various threads. After the ceremony, your brother may have the chocolates. This delightful surprise mixes tradition with sweets.
Always ask an adult to assist you with scissors and needles. Use glue and other materials that are safe for kids.
- Don't let smaller siblings play with little beads.
- Wash your hands before and after creating.
Making It Even More Special
While you make these rakhis, think of your brother and all the good experiences you've had together. Every thread and ornament you put on shows how much you care about him and wish him well.
Making your rakhis teaches you how to be patient, creative, and happy to give presents that you produced yourself. Because you crafted these rakhis with affection, your brother will always cherish them.
