Did you know that three separate Teej festivals happen every year? Like how kids have varied favourite sports and hobbies, each one is distinct and different.
The first event is named Hariyali Teej, which means "Green Teej."- This occurs in July or August, which is the wonderful monsoon season. That's why it's named Hariyali: everything becomes green and fresh after the rain. Kids adore this holiday because everyone wears bright green clothing and swings that are adorned. Families make tasty Ghewar sweets and have fun with music and dancing.
The second holiday is called Kajari Teej, or "Dark Teej."
- This celebration happens roughly fifteen days after Hariyali Teej. Women perform specific traditional songs called Kajari songs at Kajari Teej. Kids adore hearing these wonderful songs that convey tales about love and nature. A lot of people in places like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar adore this occasion.
The third and most important is Hartalika Teej,
- Which takes place in September. The most essential religious significance of this event is that it is a time of prayer. "Harit" means "friend", and "alika" means "female friend." Therefore, Hartalika derives from these two words. This is a celebration of the narrative in which Goddess Parvati's companions helped her hide when she didn't want to marry anybody except Lord Shiva.
Every kind of Teej teaches kids something new.
- Hariyali Teej is a way to convey how much you love nature. Music and songs are a big part of Kajari Teej, which honours traditional traditions. Hartalika Teej stresses how important it is to have excellent relationships and remain loyal to your aspirations.
- Children take part in all three festivals by dressing up in traditional attire, helping to decorate, learning festival songs, and eating special meals with their family. These parties are a lot of fun for youngsters and help them learn about their rich cultural history during the monsoon season.
