Red Fort: The Symbol of Indian Independence and Sovereignty

 The Red Fort, or Lal Qila, is a symbol of India's independence and liberty that will remain forever. Since 1947, people have celebrated Independence Day in this majestic Mughal fort in Delhi. It is an essential element of the story of the country's liberation. The Mughal king Shah Jahan erected the Red Fort from 1639 to 1648. It was the principal residence of Mughal monarchs for about 200 years. The site, recognized by UNESCO, features the finest Mughal buildings.
